Just toys classic cars is proud to present a very cool, and very fun car to drive. We absolutely love these little british cars. They are a ton of fun to drive are about a lot more than raw horsepower. These are a 12 on a fun factor scale of 1-10. Now remember what this car is. It is set up to do rally cross and track day events. The fit and finish is not going to be that of a 6 figure car nor should it be. That being said, this one is in great shape and is very solid. Normally, there is a lot to brag about on the interior, but as we mentioned, this is an affordable race car. There is not much interior to speak of. The original dash is still in the car and the gauges work. There is no passenger seat. Now, let's talk about what is under the hood shall we. This motor and transmission are from a 1979 mgb. It has been upgraded with an upgraded header, carb, and the head has been worked over. It is like a street legal go cart. This is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission and out to a stock rear end. This car is ready to rock and roll. The battery is located in the trunk as is the 5 gallon fuel cell. This car is set up and ready to go. There are not many opportunities for people to get in to racing on a budget, but this is one of those opportunities. We know that there is one wheel that doesn't match, and again, it is a race car, it doesn't have to.

Very nice condition. Rubber bumpers removed, grille and rear quarter bumpers installed. Converted to dual su carburetors. Runs well, good compression and oil pressure. Interior like new, no rust. I bought this british racing green mgb roadster in 2011, proceeded to remove the heavy, weak 1800 cc 4 banger and 4 speed transmission and then engage in a year long assembly process to install a lightweight, all-aluminum buick 215 ci v8 and 5 speed camaro gearbox. British leyland had actually performed the same engine conversion years ago in a mgb gt, so it was not an unknown feat. There is in reality, a huge support network both here and in england for this exact conversion. The performance transformation with this engine and drivetrain is truly exhilarating. It now accelerates with the speed of a modern high powered sports car and thanks to the 5th gear overdrive, can cruise comfortably on a highway at very low rpms. I get close to 30 mpg on the highway! Unfortunately, i just turned 75 and can't get my 6 foot plus frame in and out of the car the way i used to, so i've decided it's time to give the car a new home. The mgb however, is in great shape. There is a little rust under the passenger side dogleg, but that's it. The top is in good shape. All the conversion bugs have been sorted out and its truly a pleasure to drive. The car was painted by the previous owner just prior to my purchase. The usually objectionable black rubber bumpers were painted the same color as the body and i get a lot of complements on this feature. Everything works (signals, wipers, horn, lights. Heater, washers, etc.).
