I'm sure the modern jeep wrangler is a heck of an off-roader, but even though they've tried to copy the look, it's impossible to replicate the ideal proportions and traditional look of the cj7. First off, this cj is still made of steel, not a fiberglass tub, which makes a difference to real jeep aficionados. Like many of its siblings, this one got a long list of upgrades that only enhanced what was already a very capable package. The look is unmistakable, but it's pure jeep taken to the next level. The cool stripe down the center of the hood shows some real artistic talent and does nothing to diminish its off-road cred. Big fender flares cover the wide by huge tires, a stainless grille dresses it up, and the heavy-duty polished diamond-plate accents are more than just pretty, they reinforce critical areas of the jeep's tub. The black and gray interior looks freshened, too, with seat covers that are in excellent condition, a few well-chosen upgrades, and a back seat that can carry two folks who really, really like each other. Other upgrades include a locking bestop center console, a jvc am/fm/cd stereo system, color-matched silver knobs, and a fat grant steering wheel that looks great. There's a custom shifter to manage the 4-speed manual transmission, and in the rough there's a matching shifter for the 2-speed transfer case. The engine is amc's torquey 258 cubic inch inline-six that powered jeeps for most of a generation. Upgrades include an hei ignition system, but there's not much else, so reliability is uncompromised. Power steering is probably mandatory on something with tires this big, and the suspension was built for off-road duty and includes a set of new shocks and a heavy-duty steering stabilizer. Both axles are factory units, so they're burly enough for the rough and there's enough gear inside to make the big tires feel agile, even on surface streets. Giant 31x10. 50-15 toyo off-road radials have been stuffed onto a set of shiny aluminum wheels to complete the look. We sell a lot of cjs but rarely do we find one that suggests so much fun. 1977 jeep cj 5. 6 cylinder 258ci, t150 3-speed transmisison and manual warn hubs. Manual steering and brakes. This is currently registered and tagged in florida with a clean title. I bought this jeep three years ago in nc to have a restoration project, but i have realized i won't have the time in the next few years to complete it. I'll run through the jeep for everyone who would be looking for things that i was looking for when i found this one:engine/mechanical:no engine oil or fluid leaks. I have kept this jeep in the garage for the past two years without a drip pan and have had no drip marks on the floor. Engine runs very well, no knocking, ticking, etc. 4wd works well. I haven't rebuilt the steering. Emergency brake not functional. Jeep pulls a little bit to the front passenger side on initial braking of drive but is fine after that. Gauges: speedometer, gas, temperature, oil pressure gauges all work well. Amp meter does not, odometer reads 28,799, but does not increment properly so true mileage unknown. Switches/lights/mechanical: lights and parking lights all work. All side markers light up with exception of passenger front. Air blower works, defroster works but flow is weak (needs new defroster hose), heater works but is hooked up to the air knob. Wipers and radio do not work. Lap belt needed for front passenger seat. Body/frame:there is some surface rust near windshield hinges, overall body is pretty rust free, a couple of places with small rust holes on the driver's side where rocker rails would be, but very minor and no bubbles. Driver and passenger floor pans replaced with fiberglass by previous owner (two 2'x2' sections). Body has diamond plate on rear quarter panels, though it does not appear as though there is rust, but i don't know for sure since the panels are riveted on. Frame has some surface rust in places, but in great shape and structurally sound. Top/doors:tigertop is in fair shape, so i'd expect this to last a few more seasons. Soft doors functional and close/open easily. Brand new bikini top still in box included in salemy upgrades and new parts:4 new bfgoodrich all terrain t/a tires 31"x10. 5"r15 (tires driven ~50 miles, still have the hairs)brand new hei ignition upgradecarter yf carburetor rebuilt in april 2016brand new gas tank and sending unitbrand new battery and battery traybrand new rear fender flares (new front flares included but not installed)driver side tail light housing (passenger included but not installed)rear view mirrorplastic gloveboxstainless steel license plate holderwheel cylinders fairly newstarter fairly newi filmed some videos to give a realistic idea of the jeep. All media blasted to start and all rust removed and new steel welded in. It is not an ultra high-end finish and is not laser straight but it is probably as straight as a cj was rolling off of the assembly line in 1977. Overall there is next to nothing on this cj that wasnt either replaced or refurbished. I used as few omix / crown replacement parts as possible. Body - as stated, media blasted to start and all rust cut out- all original body except for windshield frame and tailgate which are new. New glass and seal as well- rear section of the tub under rear seat was replaced with high quality american reproduction piece. (not thing guage cheap asian panel)- not laser straight but very nice- medium quality paint used which is grey with a blue tint- underside finished with black bedliner- inside of tub finished with light grey monstaliner. Not super high textured and doesnt get hot in the sun.

Freshly completed frame-off restoration that started with media blasting, all rust removed (see pictures). Nearly $30k on this project. Monstaliner is a bedliner like coating made specifically for jeep tubs and is uv resistant. - exterior was smoothed, primed, smoothed some more, primed again, sanded some more, primed again and then painted with a metallic gray paint. The paint has a hint of blue in it and turned out nice. There is a rock chip on the driver side fender up towards the hood. Also, while completing the reassembly, i opened my garage door not realizing the hood was up and scraped about a 10" section of the hoods leading edge towards the passenger side. Except where grade 8 needed (seats, etc.) close to $500 worth of stainless and grade 8 hardware used throughout- i have a new bestop black bikini top still in the box. Never mounted it because i lover the full open air feel. Also will include a new mounting strip for this top- comes with 2 soft doors which are a bit older. The vinyl is in decent shape but the windows are yellowed and have small cracks. Interior- bestop sliding/reclining/folding front seats - near new- bestop folding and tumbling rear seat. Can be quickly removed when needed - near new- all new seatbelts- new dash pad- new polished windshield hinges and knobs- refurbished steering column- all lights work- all new wiring - painless wiring kit for whole jeep- speedhut cj gauge set. The tubes are hard to find and this is a nice weather jeep for me so i didn't try too hard to find the vent tubesengine- 4. 2l 258 straight 6 out of a 1986 cj- was rebuilt by the previous owner in 2003. I took it apart and everything looked great, no scaring or major/unusual wear anywhere. Reassembled with all new gaskets.- runs good and sounds good- painted with black semi-gloss enamel- new carburetor installed in 2013- new radiator installed in 2013. Bluetooth
