Sits, looks, runs and drives as a 911 should. It has had all necessary 911sc updates(pop-offs; chain-tensioner - supported by receipts). Paint and bodywork are all original except for the frontpassenger wing and bumper, which were replaced with oem panels in 2012 due to an accident. (the damage was limitedto these parts, there was no damage to the tub of the car. All work was done by mark israel at eurotech bodywerkes whose work has been featured inexcellence magazine. Paintwork is excellent, body gaps are as factory. Upside of having the work done is that thereare no dings or chips in the front of the car. Interior is in great shape, with original upholstery and floormatslooking like they are only a few years old. Dash has a slight warp but no cracking. Engine starts first turnevery time. Pulls strong through all gears. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. Car was recently serviced at akers porsche in seattle in may of this year and i have driven the car since. Work included a tune-up and a front brake rebuild. Sunroof/Moonroof

Before porsche began building its turbo model in cabriolet form german uber-tuner and constructor alois ruf built this 1981 ruf porsche turbo cabrio, which was the subject of a feature article in the july 1984 issue of road & track magazine. Writer joe rusz marveled at the ruf s breathtaking performance, most notably its ability to reach 154 mph with the top down, but it was senior editor peter egan who best summed up the car s performance, commenting that the ruf is a genuinely fast car, the fastest i ve ever driven. What s startling is not only its top speed but how quickly the car gets there. The ruf turbo cabrio was also featured on the cover of auto week and was the subject of a yokohama tires advertising campaign. Ruf s reputation for building ultimate porsches was greatly enhanced by this car, which he endowed with a turbocharged, fuel-injected 3. 4 l sohc flat-6 engine and a ruf-built 5-speed transmission (porsche offered only a 4-speed at the time). A custom adjustable wastegate another ruf-installed exclusive allows the driver to adjust boost from the cockpit to best suit driving conditions. Besides the fold-down soft top, the black and red turbo also incorporates suspension modifications, a front spoiler with integral oil cooler, a custom clarion sound system, auxiliary gauges and a full leather interior. One of the first cars to carry a ruf vin. Iwas alois ruf's personal car in the us for most of the 80's.
