That's what makes this ford model a replica so appealing. It might look like an 86-year-old classic but beneath the vintage appearance is a more modern drivetrain and desirable features. The people at glassic only produced a small number of model a replicas. In fact there were less than 1800 estimated built over a 15-year run and less than 350 of this particular model. The durable fiberglass body means this one still looks great after years of saturday parades and sunday drives. The red paint even still has the right kind of luster to attract attention even in a crowded parking lot. But this is no ordinary model a reproduction. Glassic took advantage of some upgrades to ford's iconic design. This includes larger doors and 15-inch wire wheels both of which make this convertible feel more practical without effecting the vintage feeling. The brown leather seats and matching door trim are very well presented. And this one also gets the details right from the wind wings on the side of the windshield to the fantastic rumble seat. There's a full gauge package in place which is always a welcomed sight. It doesn't even have to be a sunny day drive with the included heater and full top/curtain package. Glassic utilized the motor from the international harvester scout 800. It fires up it ease and the maintenance is hand tool simple. It's not just the engine that's upgraded. The entire underpinnings were borrowed from the scout which includes the three-speed manual transmission as well as the hardy chassis and suspension. Originally sold in Utah, Featured in the September 1958 Hot Rod Magazine as a"High Boy" on the Salt Flats here in Utah. Offered for sale by the same ownersince 1960, car was driven regularly until the mid '80s then put intostorage until 2011.
