While theindividual tenants of american performance could be found in earlier cars, dodge took it to a new level in the mid60s putting them all together in one sinister package equally capable of a quarter-mile blast or a comfortable tripto the grocery store. This 1966 complete restoration is a detailed impressive example of an extensive frame-offrestoration. This clean car is owned by an avid car collector and sits in his climate controlled storage with hisother great american classics. Sinister, tough, and attractive, this coronet perfectly defines mopar’s lasting legacy of creating sophisticationwith raw aggression. The front of the car is dominated by trademark, stainless-trimmed grilles that are anchoredbetween double headlights, a pristine, chrome-finish front bumper. At the sides of that broad hood, the start ofthe chiseled sidelines begin as the fenders hang dent-free wheel trim and arrow-straight rocker guards. On theoutside of those fenders, a custom 451 emblem hangs hinting at the jewel under the hood to create visual sizzlethat matches the car's visceral thrill. Above those crests, soft ray glass combines with brand new stainless and acorrect chrome mirror to highlight the car's super clean profile. And behind that glass, a second chrome bumperhangs small reverse lamps below a finned valence. Lift the hood to find the coronet powered in the form of a big block 451 v8. Originally leaving the factory with asmall block v8, the owner opted to go for the potent big block setup. The carb linkage swivels like it's lined withsilk, and the engine pulls the coronet with real authority. Correct mopar valve covers and air cleaners definitely add some sparkle. Underneath the coronet is just as impressive as the rest of the build. The stout 451 sends power to an automatictransmission that then send the power to the ground. Spent gasses travel out the rock solid drive train throughtrue dual exhausts that exit out the just below the rear of the car to create a fantastic american muscle sound. Atthe sides of that booming soundtrack, a professionally restored suspension is complete with power steering and bigdisc/drum brakes. At the corners of that suspension, a set or 17” cragar rims wrapped in sport tires. On the floor, newer carpet, along with floor mats. At the sidesof the car, nice door panels hang chrome handles. In front of the driver, a steering wheel spins a wood rim arounda chrome horn button. This pristine, 1966 coronet is a fantastically restored showpiece that packs unbeatable performance in a highlydesirable wrapper. It's the kind of car that'll be a pleasure to own for years to come.

We've had a few of these pretty mid-60s mopars recently, and this 1966 dodge coronet 440 hardtop might be one of the nicest yet. The handsome black paint shows off the angular body quite well and with a strong-running v8 under the hood, it more than lives up to the hype. According to the fender tag, this car was originally white, but given how non-committal the colors were back in 1966, the black is a big improvement. It's an attention-grabber, that's for sure, but the good news is that they seem to have gone the extra mile to make it tidy when it was repainted about 10 years ago. I'm glad they skipped the vinyl roof, too, because draping the dramatic roofline in vinyl softens the look too much. The chrome and trim is in good condition, a combination of original trim and perhaps some reproduction or re-plated pieces. The carpets were replaced at the same time and most of the trim is original and in good condition. The original and somewhat rare am/fm radio still lives in the dash and there's factory a/c, too, which uses some neatly integrated vents in the dash. The headliner and door panels are in excellent condition and the instrument panel is full of fully operational gauges that keep an eye on all the car's vitals. Finally, the trunk is properly dressed with a reproduction mat and a jack assembly stashed in the quarter panel, plus a spare tire tucked underneath. This car was no slouch when it was new, since it came with a 318 under the hood. Ok, it's not a big block screamer, but there's plenty of torque at any speed and it feels like there's a cam tucked in there to give it a little extra oomph. From the original air cleaner to the hemi orange paint on the block, it has a very oem look under the hood. More recently it was given a full tune-up as well as a complete brake service with new wheel cylinders and bearings. The torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission snaps off gear changes without hesitating, and the original 8. 75-inch rear end carries street-friendly gears. The dual exhaust sounds fantastic thanks to a pair of rumbling glasspack-style mufflers and the floors are impressively clean. Chrome pacer wheels with fat bfgoodrich radials round out the list of street-ready features. Surprisingly quick yet completely civil, this is the kind of mopar muscle that built the legends. Short answer: absolutely. That's the original color, because after all, who doesn't like their convertible in bright red with a new black top. Dodge really got the design right in '66. This classic has a wide blocky stance that can make this intermediate look full-sized. There's plenty of style touches like the creases along the side that flare out on the quarters, and that cool taffy-pulled rear end that couldn't space out d-o-d-g-e any wider if it tried. The chrome and stainless trim package is original and shines remarkably for being nearly 50 years old. Those are even the original hubcaps... The design proves once again that the chrysler stylists were at the top of their game in the '60s, and even the base bench seat got detailing on the backrests that makes it look far more upscale than its price tag would suggest. This mopar seems to carry most of its original components from the door panels to the carpets -- all of which have held up quite nicely for its age. The interior chrome bits are complete and showing just a bit of patina. This one even has the luxury of operating the power folding roof with one touch of a button. Open the hood and see a 273 cubic inch v8 that shows all signs of being the same one that came from the factory. Backing up this all-day enjoyment attitude is the effortless combination is the torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. But just because this is a nice car doesn't eliminate a bit of a wild side. The upgraded dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers lets the world hear a hint of what v8 mopar power is all about. This coronet convertible feels original right down to its included first warranty card. It will be hard to get more classic american me. AM/FM✔ CD Player

I am listing this car for a friend. It will be shown by appointment only. It is white with red vinyl interior. This car was stolen twice and the engine was removed. The owners husband purchased the car to build a street machine. The engine has casting # 2468330 on the pass side of the block, g0034 stamped on the front pad by the distributor. The owner believes that the dana rear end is original to the car and engine and trans are not. The engine builder told me this was a new chrysler performance block with stock bore. New 472 stroker crank, performance rods and pistons. He believes the heads are 66 or 67 and he installed stainless valves. The rear springs have been moved inboard of the rear frame and it appears to have been mini tubbed. The original fuel tank is gone and it now has a fuel cell and the battery in the trunk. Appears to be 2 1/2 inch aluminized exhaust with headers. The interior was redone a while back. This car has been sitting outside for a while and is need of a restoration. The right front fender has been damaged by a tree in the storm we had recently. I do not see any issues around the windshield, back glass or rocker panel area so it was either repaired or was good when it was painted before. The quarter windows are plexiglass and they do not have the glass that was taken out. Owner says it has been started and run once every six months. The engine is not locked but it is not running a this time . Owner has documents from galen v. Govier verifying authenticity of the car. This car has a new york registration in the owners name and can be signed over to the new owner. Antique cars are not required to have a title in new york. First 6 digits of vin : wh23h6 numbers on the registration and the left front hinge pillar plate match. I will not answer email until we have had a phone conversation. I can arrange for inspection of the vehicle and all documents for questions call nate at 386 258 9742 leave message, i will call back.
