I recently retired and have decided to sell off some of my vintage carcollection. For sale is a frame off rotisserie restored AMX that I've owned for over 21years now. The attention to detail and dedication to originality was the done to thehighest standard in the AMC world. It has the striking color combo of FrostWhite w/Red vinyl factory stripe and Red Leather bucket seat interior. This isan original Factory Go-Pack car which included the functional Ram Air set up,power 4 piston disc brakes and the locking differential. This car is alloriginal with the original factory "born with" 390 Ram Air engine, Borg Warnerautomatic transmission and the AMC posi-traction 3:15 rear end. The originalcarburetor was restored by Jon Hargrove aka "The Carb Doctor". All bodyrestoration & paint work was professionally done by TCR Custom in Sanford, NC. The car runs excellent and has virtually no miles since being restored. Ipurchased this car as a barn find in 1996 with 58,699 original miles (currentmileage) and it had been in storage for a long time. I had always loved the AMX2 seat muscle cars and this was a perfect car to restore as it was a completeoriginal running car with minimal rust. The body was acid dipped to remove allof the old paint and rust of which the rust was very minor. The body panels suchas quarter panels doors, hood and one fender are the original to the car. Onefender was replaced from a fender bender early in it's life. All componentswere rebuilt & restored to factory specs. The body and paint work are showquality.

1970 amc javelin sst 1970 amc javelin sst with a 360ci engine and 3spd automatic transmission. The engine was reported by the previous owner to be rebuilt about 50k miles ago. The transmission was rebuilt and has less than 4k on it. This car is not perfect and has its scratches dings and dents. There is rust under the vinyl top and some developing in common areas. She still runs strong. Recent work includes a new fuel tank new tires new electrical wiring for the rear lights and fuel sensor high output alternator new radiator radiator fan edelbrock carburetor and front disk brake conversion. 1970 amc javelin mark donohue signature editionin the late 60's, as the "pony car wars" raged on the tracks of the trans am racing series across america, amcenticed the most successful team of the '68 season, roger penske and mark donohue to campaign the amc factory teamcars during the 1970 - 1972 seasons. Amc also needed to homologate (or legalize) the new amc javelin's specialfeatures for the 1970 season. Scca rules mandated that at least 2500 units be built to production standards tosupport the new twin inlet ("ram air") hood scoop. The main objective was to legalize the use of the very specialmark donohue designed rear deck spoiler. All production mark donohue signature edition javelins were based upon the fully optioned sst models and featuredthe distinctive and functional "ram air" hood and rear spoiler. In addition, the console floor shift was standardalong with a fully trimmed deluxe bucket seat interior. Amc did not specifically denote or identify mark donohuesignature edition javelins in vin, door tag, or body tag numbers. It is believed that amc produced 2501 of thesemark donohue signature edition javelins. We purchased the car with a prior owner purportingthat the odometer reading is believed to be accurate. A prestigious collector and highly respected amc restorer and enthusiast completed this car to an outstanding levelof cosmetic and mechanical restoration that is both highly show and road worthy, and since that time she has beenmeticulously maintained. During her restoration, the 360 "wide web" unmarked factory engine was fully rebuilt to stock configuration exceptfor a competition 268 h camshaft and valve train with complete "k" kit resulting in an incredibly high torque curvefrom 2200-5000 rpm range. It has the correct 391 c "dogleg" heads, offering superior dogleg exhaust port andstudded rocker arm mounts. Her engine sounds wonderfully throaty and mean, and has a tremendous amount of power. These were original equipment and will outflow almost all other small block heads. The design is a product of thefactory trans am racing effort in the late 60's, and culminated in the winning of the trans am championship in 1972and 1973. For the 1970 season, the amc javelin trans am team missed a first place finish to ford by only 1 point. An upgraded aluminum intake manifold, finned aluminum valve covers and an edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor are alsoinstalled, however note that the original valve covers are included with the car. We have owned, restored and maintained various amc vehicles since the 70's, including several amx's and othershow-winning javelins. This rare and exceptional donohue javelin has also been painstakingly maintained and caredfor by us, and always stored indoors. Air Conditioning

This may well be the perfect car for the entry level car collector! Although tons were built over several years, very few have survived. Because they were so reliable and economical, most were driven until they fell apart, and then rotted awaybecause they were low priced yet reliable many boomers had them as their first car. I’m surprised at the number of people who come up to me at shows to share their memories of their hornet. This interaction is one of the things i enjoy most about showing my cars! Amc always did things a little differently and for those who pay attention the rewards can be huge. For example they gave the javelin a facelift in 1970 that is exclusive to this model year. That makes a genuine sst like this pretty darn rare (only about 19700 produced.) but the coupe's desirability goes beyond just rarity. The original shade of matador red looks nice with plenty of gloss and shine for the show field. The brightwork looks excellent and the full-width rear taillight section is a cool piece not often seen in the '70s. It also has all the right aggressive touches from the hood scoops up front to the wide spoiler in the rear. Plus the factory mag wheels are always a nice touch. It has the correct upgrades for the even rarer mark donohue edition (only 2501 were produced) and the code 79 on the included build sheet backs this up. That said it cannot be 100% guaranteed whether this car is a real mark donohue edition or not. It's hard not to fall in love with a pure red interior. That means the bucket seats carpets and door panels all nicely coordinate with the exterior color. But amc wanted to get attention so there was wood paneling on the dashboard and center console. Amc would introduce the larger motor the following year but this rare sports car couldn't resist the added displacement... And it didn't stop just there. Besides looking great with plenty of brightwork and fresh wires & hoses this one has plenty of extra performance too. But besides being a street-eating muscle car amc made sure the javelin could be an everyday cruiser too. That's why this one has a three-speed automatic transmission power steering and front disc brakes. Bucket Seats✔ AM/FM
