This may well be the perfect car for the entry level car collector! Although tons were built over several years, very few have survived. Because they were so reliable and economical, most were driven until they fell apart, and then rotted awaybecause they were low priced yet reliable many boomers had them as their first car. I’m surprised at the number of people who come up to me at shows to share their memories of their hornet. This interaction is one of the things i enjoy most about showing my cars! It's a quality respray of the factory-correct color that has the right amount of shine to highlight all the lines of this curvy hatchback. Plus, we love the way the bold red covers the bumpers, body kit, and rear window slats to give these classic lines a modern feeling. And the blacked-out grille, black rear panel, black trim, and correct side decals give this a mean appearance that's worthy of the legendary AMX name. Bucket seats and a center console make it instantly inviting. It's all set in a machined aluminum panel that's truly muscle car cool. Just ahead of the floor shift is an auxiliary gauge package, which is another great upgrade for these Hornet AMX cars. AMC's 304 cubic-inch V8 is always was great to see under the hood, especially when it's original to the car like this one. It's time to attract all the right attention with this 1973 amc hornet x. The refreshed factory colors, enhanced amc v8, a/c interior, and much more come together to make an attractive and distinctive classic for a value price. The sheetmeal was given a curvy restyle to be more like the javelin, and it was the time before federal regulations altered the bumper design. And the new hatchback style was able to really make the most of these curves. The two-tone maxi blue with snow white roof is the factory-correct color scheme. And they got the details, right, too. The red and white pinstripes hug the coke bottle curves; the waterfall grille is complete; and the bright 14-inch wheels even have american motors tagging in the center cap. Inside is an attractive black interior that has been given a good balance between originality and proper updating. For example, the factory am/fm stereo is still in the dash, but the real tunes come from a modern am/fm/cd stereo w/aux input that's hidden in the glove box. The black leather seats are in great condition, and the same can be said for the door panels, carpeting, and headliner. Amc's 304 cubic-inch v8 is always was great to see in the hornet, especially with the bright air grabber and valve covers. It could move these compacts around with authority, and this one does it even better than the factory. This gives the hornet x an even greater sting on the road and a true presence with the rumble of the dual exhaust. But there's much more to this classic. It has been given the right investments to be a reliable runner, including new upper and lower ball joints.
